Education and Training Grants
Frequently Asked Questions

The PMPA Education Foundation recently announced a new program whereby grants are awarded for education and training projects for companies and individuals in the precision machined products industry. Because this is a new program, we have listed below commonly asked questions and answers about the grants.

Q: Who can apply for these grants?

A: Individuals seeking tuition reimbursement and companies conducting training programs related to and benefiting the precision machined products industry can apply for grants. This includes both member and non-member companies and individuals in the U.S. and Canada.

Q: Can a school apply?

A: Yes, a school can apply for a PMPA Educational grant, provided that it is in partnership with a company from our industry or is working cooperatively with one of PMPA's Districts or Chapters. When schools apply for grant money, they will also have to submit a letter of cooperation, between them and the company or district.

Q: Can any one else apply for a grant?

A: Yes, PMPA Districts and Chapters can also apply for a grant. The money can be used to pay for a special speaker or program such as a seminar on a timely subject that benefits the precision machined products industry.

Q: How does someone apply?

A: The easiest way to apply for a grant is to visit http://www.pmpa-foundation.org Download the application form, complete it and mail it to the Foundation. Grant funds are limited and will be awarded to applicants based on the applicant meeting the goals of the Foundation and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Q: How extensive is the application?

A: The application contains questions that will probably require no more then 2-3 pages of responses. It is really quite simple.

Q: How long will it take before an applicant finds out if they are approved?

A: We anticipate that grant applications will be approved within 30 working days.

Q: Is this the only grant money available from the Foundation?

A: No, the general education grants are in addition to and separate from the NIMS Reimbursement Grant also available from the Foundation. Information on the NIMS grant is also available on the Grants page.
