The start of the Foundation:
In September 1999, the PMPA Board of Trustees approved the formation of the PMPA Education Foundation to receive a large contribution from Richard and Joan Parker of Metric Machining (Monrovia, CA). In June, 2000, the Foundation received a favorable ruling from the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c) (3) charitable organization, so that it could begin its work.
