How You Can Get Involved in the Foundation

Advantages to Contributors:
Because the Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, your personal or corporate contribution is tax deductible. And, because the Foundation is narrowly focused to the Precision Machined Products Industry, your contribution helps to maintain the source of your livelihood - a trained workforce that can compete in today's marketplace. At the same time, you are helping to sustain the Industry for future generations. The Educational Foundation programs will be more focused than the current training programs of the Association which have limited resources in this area.

Foundation Programs:
Programs of the Foundation being developed include scholarships recognizing students of Industry-specific training programs. Funds will be made available to allow deserving students to attend such events as the PMPA National Technical Conference or Precision Machining Technology Show.

Funds will also go toward support of the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) to assist schools with NIMS certification and the Foundation will provide funding to support ongoing review and development of new Standards for the Precision Machined Products Industry.

Recruitment to the Industry:
Recruiting efforts will include the development and distribution of new career promotional materials to schools for distribution to students as well as for making faculty aware of opportunities in this Industry.

Articles will also be developed for Industry-specific publications which will then be distributed to schools.

Making a Donation:
Making a donation is as simple as sending a corporate or personal check to the address below. Your tax advisor can best inform you of the special ways you can make a donation to PMPA's Educational Foundation either during your lifetime or as a bequest in your will. A donation to the Educational Foundation is also a way to remember a fellow member or employee who has devoted his or her career to this Industry.

Please be assured of the confidentiality of your contribution to the PMPA Educational Foundation. Appropriate recognition will be given to all contributors, however.
